Can you share how your culinary journey began and evolved into a more ceremonial and intentional practice?
A.N.

My work has always mirrored the evolution of myself. I always had a deep connection with food and diverse ways to engage with it. In 2009, I was looking for a healthy sweet snack, so I created one for myself, my kids and the people around me. It turned into a huge international success. Years later, I sold the healthy snack company. What stayed with me was my connection to food and the desire to get to know the deepest parts of myself. So, the journey within began. What touches and enriches me now becomes an essential ingredient of what I offer. My work is a deeply intuitive and creative expression of the transformative practices that changed my life. I dedicated myself to be professionally trained in them, so I can share them authentically. These transformations have profoundly influenced my work and, even more importantly, helped me grow into a fuller version of myself.

Please tell us more about your journey to Mallorca.
A.N.

I call the island Mama. Mallorca is raw, sometimes rigid, slow and stunning. I first started visiting in 2018, mainly for the Kundalini yoga community, and I felt that Mallorca held a treasure for me. I went first  to Barcelona, where I initiated retreats, food ceremonies and enriching collaborations and then in 2020, I was guided to move to a calmer, more natural place. Here, I’ve found a playground for my talents and culinary creativity, and I’m grateful for the people who trusted me to co-create. So much beauty and inspiration were born from this land. After 15 wild years of bringing healthy organic snacks to the world, I needed a place to get to know myself deeper and tend to my heart. Mallorca has blessed me with safety, epic friendships and a calm environment to raise my two teenagers.

What inspired you to explore the connection between food and ceremony?
A.N.

I’m deeply connected to food and harmony. I see nourishment as a celebration, a gratitude practice. Celebrating the food, ingredients, the people who grow it, celebrating life itself, the land, Mother Earth, the seasons, forces, everything. While cooking itself is a ritual on its own, a ceremony is a sacred, intentionally curated event. A ceremony invites us to be together, to have a shared experience. It’s an initiation into something greater, that we’re all going to benefit from, be touched and connected by. It’s also a remembrance of collective power and consciousness.

What can people expect from a food ceremony or workshop with you and how do you hope these transform the way people relate to nourishment?
A.N.

I create multilayered experiences that help people take small, sustainable steps toward trusting themselves and their body’s innate wisdom. Participants discover how to approach nourishment with greater presence, reverence and joy, while exploring the deeper connection between food, emotions and self-love. Integrating ancient practices and meditation, my workshops and ceremonies cultivate playfulness and appreciation for nourishing both body and soul. Witnessing participants reconnect with their inner child and sensual adult self, and rediscover their joy and curiosity during a workshop or ceremony is incredibly rewarding. And there’s an educational aspect, of course. At a Divine Sweets or Fermentation workshop, I aim for people to go back home with easy-to-integrate skills and knowledge for their individual lifestyle.

How do you use local Mallorca ingredients in your ceremonies to create a connection between nature and nourishment?
A.N.

I have great fascination for the abundance and the vibrancy of the seasons I get to witness in Sóller. I look outside what blooms, what grows, and I know this is what I shall place on my plate, in a ceremony. These can be jasmine blossoms or orange zest. Nature is wise and I trust it. That’s enough of an act to be more connected and rooted to the land. Simple but profound.

What role do community and connection play in your work, and how do you cultivate them in Mallorca?
A.N.

They are essential, yet island life with its seasonality has its own dynamics. It teaches connecting with oneself as well. I meet most of my connections at the events I host or participate in. I really loved being a part of the Yess concerts over the summer, where I was able to share my food, dance and connect with friends.

How has your journey as a culinary artist and ceremony host shaped the way you now also empower individuals and couples as a mentor, somatic therapist and tao tantra facilitator?
A.N.

Through my journey as an entrepreneur, creator, mother and woman, I’ve learned the importance of care, compassion, the art of truly listening and authentic presence. Rooted in my diverse professional background, Taoist teachings and a devotion to be in service, I share the power of self-love, purpose, harmonious relationships and genuine intimacy through Somatic Tantric Therapy, guiding others toward a deeper appreciation of life and meaningful connections. Embodying my feminine essence has been a long journey and so rewarding to bring vitality to my body and expression. It simply brings so much peace and quality to life and it’s a wise deep place to act from. Of course, I want to share that path.

What lessons from creating internationally successful brands like Roobar and Kookie Cat do you bring to “Food by Anita”?
A.N.

To be authentic and have strong values. That builds relationships and trust. Whatever I create, I must be its first and biggest fan. My intuition has always led me to create things from that deep place of transformation. Only when we go through something deep, can we transmit the lessons and potency that it carries. I always ask myself: How can I make things better? How can I leave a place better than it was? An offering must be needed in the world, served holistically. Throughout my thirty-three years in the health food industry, every company, brand, product and service I’ve developed has been rooted in these core principles for “sweet success” (fulfilment), and “Food by Anita” is no different.

What is your vision for “Food by Anita,” and how do you see it evolving over time?
A.N.

Those kitchens that are warm and cosy, where delicious aromas fill the air… this is the feeling I want “Food by Anita” to continue to radiate, inviting the vibrant, joyous and pleasurable relation to food. My cookbook is in the making. It’s an exciting, personal project wrapping years of culinary exploration, aiming to educate effortlessly, cultivate virtues and bring the magnificence of food as ceremony into people’s hearts, homes and kitchens. The Divine Sweets and Fermentation workshops continue to be available on demand for private gatherings and celebrations.

What message would you like to share with readers about the importance of reconnecting with food, nature and ourselves?
A.N.

We are not separate from nature, nor from our food. I would like to see more people taking their power back regarding their food and personal care, instead of outsourcing it. Honouring Mother Earth is a vital step toward deepening our connection with our bodies, fostering love for ourselves and living in harmony and peace both within and without. Food consumed fast and unconsciously doesn’t nourish. Each meal is an opportunity to remember the gift of nourishment, to fully receive, savour and replenish. The magic of reconnecting is in our hands, literally. More food made by loving hands.
