rt Palma Brunch celebrates its 20th iteration with a comprehensive program that reflects the dynamic and diverse contemporary art scene on the island. The event will take place on March 22 between 11:00-15:00. All events are free and open to the public. There will be over 40 exhibitions open to the public featuring works by hundreds of artists.
Art Palma Contemporani is an association of contemporary art galleries in Mallorca that was established in 2004 as a way to grow and promote contemporary art and culture on the island and internationally. Today, the association includes: ABA ART, BARÓ, CCA Andratx, Galería Fermay, KEWENIG Palma, LA BIBI + REUS, Florit/Florit (Formerly L21 Gallery), Galeria Maior, Galeria Pelaires, Pep Llabrés Art Contemporani, Galería Xavier Fiol, and 6a Taller i Galeria, which is a long-standing gallery but new to the association.
Select gallery highlights include the exhibition of photographer Jean Marie del Morel at ABA Gallery titled “Los silencios del estudio. Artistas en Mallorca;” Galleria Fermay presents “Trazos y espacios,” with work by Juan Anton, Weecolors, Ander Sagastiberri and Julio Varela; in Pollensa, Galleria Maior presents Shanghai Garden, by Juan Olivares.
In addition to the gallery openings, various museums and cultural institutions are also participating in Art Palma Brunch including the Es Baluard Museum, Casa Solleric, The Miro Museum, La Misercòrdia and CCA Andratx, which presents “Hearth” a curated exhibition by Sylvia Sanchez Montoya.
