nown for its charming old-fashioned train and its seemingly endless orange and lemon trees, Sóller is a small village located in the valley of the Tramuntana mountains that retains an authentic feel thanks to its local specialty shops and businesses that cater to residents as much as tourists. In recent years, the town has grown in terms of shops and restaurants, becoming a sought-after destination throughout the year. The main shopping street, Calle de la Luna, is where most of the action is, but don’t miss out on the cute side streets where hidden gems are located as well. Here is a list of some of our top favourite shops:
The Alameda Shop
Set on a small side street steps from the main plaza and cathedral, The Alameda Shop in Sóller was opened in late 2020 with a focus on handmade objects by local designers and small, independent brands from the island and Spain primarily, but also across Europe. In addition, they source rugs, cushions, blankets and other crafts from places like Peru and Mexico. The shop has a warm and contemporary look, filled with plants and colour, and features artwork by many designers not found elsewhere on the island. Look out for cool books, jewellery, ceramics, stationery, cards, prints, backpacks, clothing and a small selection for children as well. This year sees the addition of a small cafe with delicious coffee and homemade pastries such as scones, donuts, cakes and cookies along with special dishes of the day.
