Tan Line on Plaça del Rosari
A

new trend has sprouted up in Palma, and particularly around the Plaça del Rosari: concept stores that combine a love of cycling with a passion for coffee. It doesn’t feel intuitive at first – coffee and cycling? But these distinctive storefronts are uniting high-quality cycling gear, bike rentals, recommendations and, in some cases, repair service, into an inviting meeting point for cyclists and coffee enthusiasts. In this way, it’s a natural connection. Cyclists enjoy taking breaks and refuelling on their outings, while others enjoy relaxing and talking about their love of the sport. Additionally, Mallorca, with its Mediterranean climate and world-renowned cycling routes, is the ideal destination for cyclists from everywhere, making these spaces particularly attractive. Each shop brings their own approach to the cycling world, whether through sustainability or simply stylish activewear, enticing even the most sceptical to hop on two wheels after enjoying a strong, locally roasted café con leche.

Tan Line: Fashion and Sustainability in Cycling

Tan Line is a pioneering brand that opened its doors in December 2022. Its philosophy is based on sustainability, offering cycling clothes made from recycled fabrics. The brand seeks to unite cycling and fashion, providing athletes with garments that are not only functional but also elegant. The name "Tan Line" is a play on the characteristic tan of cyclists after hours under the sun. This identity concept is significant for those who practise outdoor sports, turning each garment into a symbol of their dedication.

Rapha: Style and Community

Rapha was one of the first brands to show cycling as a lifestyle as much as a sport. Founded in London over 20 years ago, it arrived in Palma in 2007. Its initial mission was to fill a gap in the cycling industry, creating elegant and advertisement-free clothing lines. In addition to its lifestyle brand, Rapha launched Rapha Cycling Club, a space for cyclists to gather, share their passion, and ride in groups. The café at Rapha is not just a place to enjoy a drink; it is the core of the cycling community where events and activities are organised. This makes Rapha attractive to both cyclists and non-cyclists alike.
